Guatemala, Finca La Ensenada: A beautifully fruited coffee with a full body and balanced acidity. Citrus and jasmine aromatics give way to a rich cane sugar sweetness with notes of red fruit. 8/30/2013
Blueboon Blend: We coupled these coffees to create a well-balanced, versatile blend that focuses on celebrating simple flavors of milk chocolate, sweet citrus and stone fruits. 5/24/2012
Owl’s Howl Espresso: Tropical fruits and ripe berry dominate the shot coupled with a syrupy, honey-like body, strong floral aromatics, and a crisp apple-like acidity. We found a range of flavors from the very simple, to the more exotic. Look for flavors of pineapple, strawberry, peach, & cantaloupe alongside sweet milk chocolate. 9/19/2011
Decaf MWP: Sweet aromas of dates and hot cocoa carry through into the cup. We enjoyed flavors of raisin and dutch chocolate complimented by a rindy citrus-like acidity, in a cup that is overall very sweet and clean. 9/17/2011
Sightglass is an independent, sibling-owned coffee company in San Francisco. To us, a good craftsperson works tirelessly to perfect and deliver excellence. The best creations are the ones that are made by hand and at Sightglass, coffee is our hands-on craft.
We practice small production methods that allow us to scrutinize and perfect our processes. Coffee is a seasonal fruit and we source it directly from origin in freshly harvested lots. Attaining a perfect roast is an intuition, a smell, a sound, a slight change in color-it’s about careful attention to detail that comes through in every cup.
The sightglass is the viewing window on our coffee roaster that exposes the complex and delicate process of roasting coffee. Similarly, we aim to operate with complete line of sight and traceability from the hand that picks the coffee cherry to the hand that serves the cup.
We believe that knowing the story behind your coffee-where it was grown, how it was processed, and who handled it along the way-is a powerful link from the cup to the wider world.
